South African Parks and Reserves
South Africa is famous for its wild parks, all with a compelling nature. Explore the huge and famous Kruger Park from south to north and see the variety in its landscape. Enjoy Marakele (formerly known as Kransberg NP) in
the
Waterberg mountains or visit and the enormous Tankwa Karoo. Smell the salty sea-air in West Coast and see the beauty of the Cape Peninsula. On we go... Listen to "Ankurebis", the "Place of Thunder" for the KhoiKhoi
residents,
the giant 240m deep waterfall in Augrabies the northwest of the country.
Not a national park, but nevertheless, from Upington, drive a bit up north and visit our friends Riane and Paul at the Kalahari Guest House, they have a superb dam with beautiful wildlife... if there's any water
available.
It's next to the main road to Twee Rivieren, entrance of Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, the first nature park beyond country borders and our favorite destination.
Then, you might mis our favorite park... to fully explore the red Kalahari sand surrounding the dry Auob and Nossob rivers we have created a separate page: Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.
Enjoy some of South Africa's immense nature!
