Red-billed quelea
Appearance
Breeding male has a black or white mask, ringed with pink or dull yellow, and a bright red bill and legs.
Non-breeding male and female are drab, but show red bill and legs. Breeding female has a waxy yellow bill.
Habitat
Savanna, especially thornveld, and croplands.
Call
Flocks make a chittering noise. Song a jumble of harsh and melodious notes.
