Barn swallow

Appearance
The red throat and forehead, blue-black breast and deeply forked tail are diagnostic. Differs from similar Angola swallow in being creamy or deep buff on the lower breast and belly, but never grey.
Male has longer tail streamers than female. Juvenile is browner and has shorter outer tail feathers than adult.
Habitat
Cosmopolitan, except in closed forest.
Call
A soft, high-pitched twittering.
