Differs from grey tit by its blue-grey (not brownish grey) back, and blue-grey (not buff) flanks and belly. It is darker than miombo tit, with less white in the wings.
Juvenile is duller version of adult.
Thornveld and arid savanna.
Harsher and more scolding than of grey tit.
