African openbill (Openbilled stork)

Appearance
A large, black stork with a large bill that has a diagnostic wide, nutcracker-like gap between the mandibles. The bill is usually dark towards the tip, paling to ivory at the base.
Juvenile and immature are duller versions of adult and lack the bill gap, which develops with maturity.
Habitat
Freshwater lakes and dams.
Call
Seldom heard; a croaking 'honk'.
