Tok-tokkie (Tenebrionid beetle)
Appearance
Very varied family including many highly adapted desert dwellers. The well-known Tok-Tokkies have head slightly sunken and pointed downwards. Body weel rounded, elevated on relatively long legs. Brown to black. Taps abdomen on hard surfaces to attract mate. Omnivorous.
Habitat
Mostly in arid regions.
