Spotted flycatcher

Appearance
Larger than the similar African dusky flycatcher, this species is also paler belkow with a streaked forehead (diagnostic) and more clearly streaked underparts. It often flicks its wings on alighting.
Juvenile is mottled with brown and buff, but is not likely to be seen in the region.
Habitat
A wide range of wooded habitats, from the edges of evergreen forest to semi-arid bush.
Status
Common summer visitor.
Call
A soft 'tzee' and 'zeck, chick-chick'.
