Scrub-robins Information page

Description
Unobtrusive, largely terrestrial robins, most with bright rufous or orange rumps.
They primarily feed on the ground, shuffling and hopping (usually while whistling) through leaf litter in search of invertebrate prey.
They are monogamous and territorial. They have cup-shaped nests in hollow stump, natural tree hole shrub, grass tuft at the base of a tree or in dead aloe leaves. They lay clutches of 3 speckled or splotched eggs. Incubation is done by the female alone, but care of young is shared between male and female.
They are occasionally parasitised by red-chested and Diederik cuckoos.
